01 / DNA
DNA stores biological information in a sequence of bases. In a protein-coding gene, that sequence provides instructions used by the cell to build a chain of amino acids. DNA and peptides are different kinds of molecules: one carries the code; the other is built from amino acids.
02 / RNA
The cell first copies a gene’s information into messenger RNA. Ribosomes read that message in three-letter units called codons, assembling amino acids in the specified order. This is information being translated—not a DNA strand physically turning into a peptide.
03 / PEPTIDES
A peptide is a short chain of amino acids joined by peptide bonds. The order of those amino acids is its sequence. Change the sequence and you change the molecule, which is why a precise identity matters more than a familiar name.
